Bollywood actress Rakhi Sawant, who now goes by Rakhi Fatima, faced a chaotic situation in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
The actress was distributing Janamaz, or prayer mats, among pilgrims when a large crowd gathered around her.
Videos showing the incident have since circulated widely on social media, drawing attention to the unexpected scenes.
According to reports, Sawant had travelled to Mecca and offered prayers for people affected by devastating floods in Nepal.
She reportedly prayed for the safety of children, elderly people, animals and everyone stranded by the flooding.
Crowd Surges Around Rakhi Sawant
The situation reportedly became difficult when pilgrims began moving towards Sawant to collect the prayer mats.
As the crowd grew, the actress appeared visibly overwhelmed by the sudden rush around her.
Videos circulating online show the 47-year-old actress attempting to manage the situation while surrounded by pilgrims.
She appeared frightened during the commotion but tried to remain calm as the crowd continued gathering around her.
At one point, Sawant could be heard chanting โAllah Hu Akbarโ while trying to cope with the situation.
The distribution eventually ended, but the situation reportedly became even more chaotic afterward.
Pilgrims Follow Sawant Towards Shop
According to reports, some people followed Sawant towards a shop after the prayer mats had been distributed.
The crowd reportedly began grabbing the remaining mats as the situation became increasingly difficult to control.
During the commotion, some people were also seen pulling at Sawantโs hijab, which reportedly left her frightened.
The incident was captured in videos that later circulated across social media platforms.
Sawant herself shared an Instagram video showing her purchasing Janamaz and distributing them among fellow pilgrims in Mecca.
Rakhi Sawantโs Religious Journey
The incident comes days after Sawant discussed her religious journey during an interview with BBC Hindi.
Sawant, who describes herself as Indiaโs first content creator, said she was born into a Hindu family.
She said her mother later converted to Christianity, while she converted to Islam after marrying a Muslim man.
Following her conversion, she adopted the name Fatima and has spoken publicly about her religious beliefs.
Sawant Says She Studies Quran and Bible
During the interview, Sawant said she studies both the Quran and the Bible while believing in all prophets.
She also said she prays regularly, has performed Umrah and believes in Allah.
At the same time, she described religion as a personal matter and said everyone has the right to choose their religion.
Her comments reflected the personal nature of her religious journey, which she has discussed publicly on several occasions.
