A legal dispute between YouTuber Rajab Butt and TikToker Ayesha Sharafat took a new turn as the court postponed proceedings in the harassment and assault case and summoned the accused for charge proceedings on August 29.
Additional Sessions Judge Rafaqat Ali Gondal ordered Rajab Butt and his co-accused to appear before the court.
Court Delays Charge Proceedings
The other accused include Salman Butt, Jawad, Jahangir, and Abdul Rehman.
Meanwhile, the court also postponed proceedings on the main challan submitted in connection with Ayesha Sharafatโs complaint.
Rajab Butt and four others must appear for charge proceedings on August 29.
During the hearing, Rajab and the other accused submitted their surety bonds. They also appeared before the court with their counsel, Advocate Ali Ashfaq.
The court will now proceed with the case after hearing the parties.
Ayesha Challenges Police Findings
Police had declared Rajab Butt innocent during their investigation into the case.
However, Ayesha Sharafat later filed a private complaint against the investigation findings.
She alleged that investigators had conducted a flawed inquiry and wrongly cleared Rajab Butt.
The private complaint subsequently kept the legal dispute active despite the police finding.
The court will now examine the allegations and determine whether formal charges should proceed against Rajab Butt and the other accused.
During the next hearing (on August 29), the next legal stage of the case will be determined.
