ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain and snowfall in several northern areas of the country, bringing colder weather conditions during the coming days.
According to the latest weather outlook, isolated light rain and snowfall over mountainous areas are expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan on November 4.
The weather department said most parts of Pakistan would experience dry conditions, while northern regions would remain partly cloudy and cold during morning and night.
However, a fresh westerly weather system is expected to influence northern parts of the country on November 5. It could bring rain, thunderstorms and snowfall over mountainous areas.
Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northern Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir are among the regions likely to experience changing weather conditions.
The forecast also indicates that temperatures could decrease following the expected rainfall and snowfall, particularly in mountainous districts.
Meanwhile, Islamabad, Punjab and other central regions are expected to experience predominantly dry weather.
The PMD has advised residents, tourists and travellers to remain cautious while visiting mountainous areas because of potentially slippery roads and changing weather conditions.
The department will continue monitoring weather developments and issuing updated forecasts.
