Punjab plans to provide artificial intelligence training to 160,000 teachers under a new provincial initiative. The programme follows the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Punjab Chief Minister’s AI and Initiative Advisor Ali Dar announced the plan while addressing participants. He spoke as chief guest at the launch of the AI Curriculum and Training Initiative.
AI Training To Expand Across Punjab Schools
Ali Dar said thousands of students would also benefit from artificial intelligence training through the initiative. He added that training 160,000 teachers would support the promotion of AI across Punjab.
According to Ali Dar, the programme aims to introduce modern artificial intelligence standards into the education system. The initiative will prepare teachers to use emerging technologies in teaching and learning.
He also expressed hope that an AI-developed educational syllabus would create better opportunities for students. The curriculum could help Punjab’s education sector respond to changing technological demands.
Education Departments Join AI Training Initiative
The launch brought together several organisations involved in Punjab’s education sector. These included the School Education Department, PECTAA, PMIU-PESRP, UNICEF, and the Office of AI.
The participants discussed changes in teaching, learning, and education caused by artificial intelligence. They also explored ways to prepare teachers and students for an increasingly technology-driven educational environment.
Meanwhile, the initiative seeks to strengthen digital skills among educators across the province. Authorities expect the programme to support wider adoption of artificial intelligence in classrooms.
