LAHORE: The Punjab Special Education Department has announced arrangements to provide NADRA identity-related services directly at special education schools, reducing the need for children and their parents to repeatedly visit government offices.
The initiative follows directions from the Punjab chief minister and aims to make identity documentation more accessible for children with special needs.
Punjab Special Education Secretary Syed Shoaib Iqbal met NADRA South Director General to discuss arrangements for delivering the services at schools.
According to a department spokesperson, NADRA will deploy mobile registration buses and vans to special education institutions, where its staff will process the required documentation.
NADRA Mobile Teams to Visit Special Education Schools
The mobile facilities will allow eligible children to obtain required identity-related services without travelling to NADRA offices.
Moreover, officials expect the arrangement to reduce difficulties faced by parents who previously had to accompany their children to government facilities for documentation.
The department said NADRA personnel would provide the necessary services during scheduled visits to participating schools.
Special Children Will No Longer Need NADRA Office Visits
Meanwhile, Syed Shoaib Iqbal said cooperation between the Special Education Department and NADRA would continue to ensure children receive these services at their schools.
He added that children with special needs would no longer need to visit NADRA offices to obtain their special cards.
Consequently, the initiative seeks to make the documentation process easier for families while bringing government services closer to children who may face mobility or accessibility challenges.
The department did not provide a detailed schedule for the mobile units or specify when visits would begin across Punjab.
