Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif launched the program in collaboration with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB).
The initiative will offer paid internships to 2,000 recent graduates from IT and computer-related disciplines. Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs50,000 for four to five months.
Who Can Apply?
The program is open to graduates with at least 16 years of education in relevant fields. Eligible disciplines include Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Data Science, Graphic Design and Information Systems.
Applicants must have completed their degree within the last four years. They must also be unemployed when applying.
The program is open to men, women and transgender applicants who hold a Punjab domicile.
Applicants must submit their CNIC or B-Form, Punjab domicile, educational documents, recent photograph, updated CV and contact details. An experience certificate may also be submitted where applicable.
Selection Process and Industry Training
Candidates will first register their profiles online. The selection process will include an aptitude test, verification of educational qualifications by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and interviews.
Participating IT companies will receive Rs12,500 per intern each month to support practical training and project-based learning.
The program is designed to strengthen digital skills and improve graduates’ employment prospects in Pakistan’s growing technology sector.
Selected interns will also have the opportunity to obtain internationally recognized IT certifications during their internship.
Eligible candidates can apply through the Punjab government’s official internship portal at cmitinterns.punjab.gov.pk.
The initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic education and industry requirements by giving young graduates direct workplace exposure.
