The Punjab Home Department has issued a list of proscribed organizations and unregistered charitable institutions, cautioning citizens against donating to any entity not registered with the Punjab Charity Commission.
Authorities have emphasized that providing financial assistance to banned groups involved in terrorism or anti-state activities is a criminal offense under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997. Officials urged the public to contribute only to verified and legally registered organizations to ensure their donations are used for legitimate purposes rather than funding extremist activities.
The department reiterated that all charitable institutions operating in Punjab must be registered with the Punjab Charity Commission. Citizens are advised to verify organizations before making donations to prevent funds from being misused.
Additionally, the Home Department has called on the public to ensure their Zakat, charity, and other donations reach recognized organizations to prevent their exploitation for illegal purposes.
List of Banned Organizations:
- Extremist and Militant Groups: Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Sipah-e-Muhammad Pakistan, Jaish-e-Muhammad, Al-Qaeda, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, Tehreek-e-Taliban Swat, Tehreek-e-Taliban Mohmand, Ansar-ul-Islam, Jundullah, Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, Hizb-ut-Tahrir, Ghazi Force, and Daesh (ISIS).
- Separatist and Insurgent Groups: Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), United Baloch Army, Sindhudesh Liberation Army, Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army, Balochistan Liberation Front, Balochistan Republican Army, Balochistan National Liberation Army, Balochistan Waja Liberation Army, Balochistan Fundamentalist Army, and Jiye Sindh Qaumi Mahaz.
- Religious and Sectarian Organizations: Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan, Tehreek-e-Jafaria Pakistan, Tehreek Nifaz Shariat-e-Muhammadi, Islami Tehreek Pakistan, Khuddam-ul-Islam, Jamaat-ul-Furqan, Markaz Sabeel Organization Gilgit, Tanzeem Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat Gilgit, Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat, and Anjuman Imamia Gilgit-Baltistan.
- Charitable and Welfare Institutions: Al-Rehmat Trust Bahawalpur, Al-Furqan Trust Karachi, Al-Anfal Trust Lahore, Idara Khidmat-e-Khalq Lahore, Al-Dawa Al-Irshad Lahore, Al-Hamd Trust Lahore/Faisalabad, Mosques and Welfare Trust Lahore, Al-Madina Foundation Lahore, Muaz Bin Jabal Educational Trust Lahore, Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation, Al-Fazl Foundation/Trust Lahore, and Al-Ithar Foundation Lahore.
