LAHORE: The Government of Punjab has decided to introduce an e-bike scheme for teachers across the province, aiming to improve commuting facilities and provide financial relief. Officials confirmed that applications for the Chief Ministerโs E-Bike Scheme will open soon.
According to details, eligible candidates will submit applications through the Punjab Teachers Foundation website. Applicants must provide essential documents, including a Computerised National Identity Card, service certificate, and valid driving licence. In addition, candidates will attach a passport-size photograph to complete the application process.
Once applicants submit their forms online, they will receive confirmation via message or email. Furthermore, authorities will allow candidates to download an attested receipt after completing the process, ensuring transparency and record-keeping.
The initiative offers electric bikes priced between Rs. 200,000 and Rs. 250,000. Moreover, the provincial government will provide a subsidy ranging from 30 to 40 percent on each bike. As a result, teachers will only need to cover the remaining cost through affordable instalment plans.
Officials stated that beneficiaries can pay the remaining amount over a period of two to three years. Consequently, monthly instalments will range between Rs. 3,600 and Rs. 4,200, making the scheme accessible to a large number of educators.
Meanwhile, authorities believe the initiative will promote environmentally friendly transport while supporting teachers in managing daily travel more efficiently.
Overall, the scheme reflects the governmentโs focus on facilitating educators and encouraging sustainable mobility solutions.
