Education Department gives eligible candidates until September 1 to apply as government moves to fill leadership vacancies in 100 colleges

LAHORE: The Punjab Education Department has extended the deadline for applications for permanent principal positions at government colleges across the province, including institutions in Lahore.

Under the fourth phase of the appointment process, the department plans to appoint permanent principals at 100 colleges across Punjab. Both eligible male and female candidates can compete for the vacant positions.

The department has now extended the application deadline to September 1, 2026, giving prospective candidates additional time to complete and submit the required documents.

Government Moves to Fill Vacant Leadership Posts

The latest initiative forms part of the Punjab government’s broader efforts to fill vacant administrative positions at public-sector colleges and strengthen institutional management.

Several colleges have been operating without permanent principals, creating a need for regular leadership to supervise academic activities, administrative affairs and institutional development.
