PUNJAB: The Punjab Counter Narcotics Force (CNF) has arrested 45 suspected drug dealers and smugglers during a week-long crackdown across the province.
Officials said the operations also led to the recovery of 151 kilograms of narcotics. Authorities carried out the raids in Lahore and several other districts. The latest action highlights the force’s continued efforts to disrupt illegal drug networks. It also targets the movement and supply of narcotics across Punjab.
CNF Conducts Raids Across Punjab
The CNF conducted operations in Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Narowal and Sahiwal. Officials also carried out raids in several other areas as part of the crackdown.
The recovered drugs included hashish, opium, heroin and ice, also known as crystal methamphetamine.
Officials estimated the total value of the seized narcotics at around Rs45 million. The recovery represents a significant disruption to suspected drug trafficking activities in the province.
Authorities did not provide further details about the identities of the arrested suspects. However, the force confirmed that the detainees allegedly had links to the illegal drug trade.
Weapons and Other Contraband Recovered
The CNF also recovered several weapons during the operations. The seized weapons included six pistols, one submachine gun and two rifles.
Officials also found a drone among the items recovered from the suspects. The discovery adds another dimension to the ongoing investigation into the alleged trafficking networks.
In addition, the force seized 1,175 ecstasy tablets during the raids. Officials also recovered 333 litres of liquor from the suspects.
The combination of narcotics, weapons and other contraband highlights the range of illegal activities targeted during the operations.
CNF Vows to Continue Anti-Drug Operations
The Punjab Counter Narcotics Force said the latest raids form part of its ongoing campaign against drug trafficking.
The force aims to prevent illegal drugs from reaching communities across the province. It also plans to continue targeting people involved in the distribution and transportation of narcotics.
Punjab Counter Narcotics Force Director General Brigadier Mazhar Iqbal said the force would continue taking action against those involved in the illegal drug trade.
The latest arrests and seizures mark another major step in Punjab’s efforts to tackle drug trafficking. Authorities are expected to maintain pressure on suspected dealers and smugglers through further operations across the province.
