LAHORE: The Punjab government has approved a monthly stipend package worth Rs 4.21 billion for college teaching interns. The new initiative will support more than 8,000 interns across the province. It aims to strengthen education and encourage young graduates to join the teaching profession.
Interns to Receive Financial Support
Intermediate-level interns will receive Rs 55,000 per month. BS-level interns will get Rs 65,000 per month. The internship period is seven months for intermediate interns and ten months for BS interns. Moreover, each intern will receive an experience certificate after successfully completing the program.
Special Quotas for Inclusive Hiring
The government has allocated quotas to ensure inclusivity. There are 404 seats for minority applicants. Additionally, 243 seats are reserved for persons with disabilities. The transgender community will receive 40 seats. The allocated funds will cover stipends and related program expenses.
