ISLAMABAD: Fawad Chaudhary, a senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf said the party will challenge the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) decision to seize 16 bank accounts.
He said the PTI is the only party that operates on donations from the public while other parties have support of billionaires. Fawad was addressing the media in Islamabad after the ECP announced its reserved decision related to the prohibited funding case against the PTI.

PTI claimed that the overseas Pakistanis have given donations to PTI and added, “Don’t know why Pakistan Muslim League and Peoples Party have become overseas Pakistanis’ enemies.”
About foreign funding case, he said that the stance of PTI from beginning has been that it’s not a case of foreign funding.
The second issue is that the party did not disclose 16 of its bank accounts, he said. He said that it was not Imran Khan who opened all these account.
“How would have Imran Khan declared these accounts if he was not even aware of them?”

The prohibited foreign funding case was related to PTI’s funding from 2008 to 2013. He pointed out that during this time, party has received Rs3 to Rs4 billion donations mostly from the overseas Pakistanis.
