Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has formally approached the Islamabad district administration with a request to hold a political rally at F-9 Park on August 5. The application, submitted by the party’s Islamabad chapter, seeks official permission for what PTI describes as a peaceful public gathering aimed at engaging with citizens and promoting its political stance.
The request was signed by PTI’s Regional President Aamir Mughal and Regional General Secretary Malik Aamir. In the written application, the party emphasized that the rally is intended to further democratic discourse and convey its political narrative in a lawful and non-violent manner.
PTI also underscored that the event would be organized in accordance with the law and that all necessary arrangements for security, traffic management, and public order would be coordinated in collaboration with the authorities.
The letter stated that F-9 Park has traditionally served as a venue for large-scale public events and is ideally suited for accommodating a peaceful political gathering of this nature. The party has expressed its willingness to cooperate fully with the administration to ensure that the event does not disrupt routine civic life or compromise public safety.
While the request has been filed, the Islamabad district administration has not yet issued a response or formal approval. It remains to be seen whether the authorities will grant PTI permission to hold the rally, particularly given the sensitive political climate and the party’s contentious relationship with the current government.
This development comes as PTI continues to pursue avenues for political mobilization and public outreach following a series of legal and political challenges faced by the party and its leadership in recent months. The proposed rally on August 5 is expected to be a significant event in PTI’s efforts to reassert its presence in the national political arena.
PTI has maintained that peaceful assembly is a constitutional right and has urged the administration to respect democratic norms by allowing the event to proceed without obstruction. The party awaits an official response and has called on its supporters to stay prepared while remaining peaceful and law-abiding.
