Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has reached out to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) with a proposal to initiate a joint movement against the incumbent government.
JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has assured PTI that the offer will be discussed within his party, signaling a possible shift in Pakistan’s political dynamics.
A PTI delegation, including Senator Kamran Murtaza, Omar Ayub, Asad Qaiser, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Salman Akram Raja, and Akhunzada Hussain, visited Maulana Fazlur Rehman at his residence on Tuesday. During the meeting, the discussion centered on the prevailing political situation and PTI’s invitation to JUI-F to collaborate in a movement aimed at protecting the Pakistani constitution.
After the meeting, a joint press conference was held where PTI officially extended its proposal for a collaborative effort against the government. JUI-F responded by ensuring PTI that the suggestion would be carefully considered.
Senator Kamran Murtaza announced the formation of a two-member committee comprising representatives from both parties to facilitate dialogue and address any potential misunderstandings.
Speaking at the press conference, Salman Akram Raja stressed the importance of unity among political stakeholders to uphold the constitution. He highlighted the positive prospects of working with Maulana Fazlur Rehman and emphasized the collective responsibility to safeguard constitutional values.
The proposal marks a significant development in Pakistan’s political arena as major parties explore avenues for collaboration in addressing national challenges.
