PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information and Public Relations Minister Shafi Jan on Thursday described the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally in Peshawar as the formal launch of the party’s movement for the release of its founder and former chairman, Imran Khan.
Shafi Jan said the gathering reflected strong public confidence, particularly among young people, in Imran Khan and Chief Minister Sohail Afridi. Moreover, he described the rally as an important milestone in the party’s campaign to secure the former prime minister’s release. According to the minister, the event highlighted growing public support for PTI’s political objectives.
The minister also said the massive turnout of people from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, along with enthusiastic participation by PTI workers, demonstrated that Imran Khan remains the country’s most popular political leader. Furthermore, he praised the commitment of party supporters and credited the youth for playing a central role in the rally’s success.
Meanwhile, Shafi Jan stressed that the demands presented by Chief Minister Sohail Afridi during his address remained fully consistent with the Constitution and the law. He argued that the party seeks constitutional and legal solutions to the issues raised at the public gathering.
In addition, the minister called for immediate justice for Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi. He said timely access to justice is their constitutional and fundamental right. Therefore, he urged the relevant institutions to ensure a fair and prompt legal process without unnecessary delays.
