The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is preparing for a significant display of political strength in Peshawar on Sunday. Party leaders claim they will mobilise 17,000 workers for the event, aiming to boost participation after recent low turnout at public gatherings.
Mobilisation Strategy Finalised at CM House Meeting
The final mobilisation plan was agreed during a meeting held at the Chief Minister’s House on Saturday. The session was chaired by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.
According to party insiders, PTI office-bearers and lawmakers from Peshawar took part in the discussion. Participants voiced concern over the disappointing attendance seen after the November 26 public meeting, which fell short of expectations.
PTI leaders from Peshawar reportedly accepted responsibility for the weak mobilisation seen during the earlier “Black Day” rally. They assured the leadership that they would take stronger measures to ensure a larger turnout for the upcoming power show.
Leaders Commit to Bringing Thousands of Supporters
Former provincial minister Taimur Jhagra pledged to bring 2,500 workers to the rally. Other PTI lawmakers committed to mobilising around 1,000 participants each from their respective constituencies.
PTI Peshawar president Irfan Saleem confirmed that the meeting finalised the organisational structure and mobilisation strategy. He added that all local party units had been instructed to maximise outreach and guarantee strong participation.
The Peshawar rally is expected to play a key role in revitalising the party’s local momentum as it seeks to reinforce its presence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
