ISLAMABAD: PTI has challenged the decision of the Lahore High Court pertaining to fresh counting of votes in election of Chief Minister of Punjab. On Thursday, the Lahore High Court ordered the Governor Punjab to summon session of the provincial assembly at 4pm to count afresh the votes, excluding 25 dissident PTI MNAs.

The LHC wrapped up PTI’s case against Hamza’s election to the CM’s slot, while ordering to recount the votes cast during the Punjab chief executive’s election in line with the apex court’s interpretation of Article 63(A).
The plea seeks an immediate hearing of the case, requesting the apex court to remove Hamza Shahbaz from Punjab CM’s post and suspend the process of recounting till a decision on this plea.
When the Lahore High Court announced its verdict on Thursday without sharing details, PTI leaders celebrated it. However, later on, they came to know that PML(N) and PPP still have more MPAs than PTI and PML-Q that’s why the PTI leaders have challenged the LHC decision in the Supreme Court knowingly that Hamza Shahbaz will be confirmed as Chief Minister of Punjab.
