Ahmar Rashid Bhatti, a triumphant independent candidate endorsed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from the PP-165 constituency in Lahore, has been taken into custody by the police.
Bhatti, who secured a victory in the Punjab Assembly seat, was apprehended in Lahore’s Township area on charges linked to a significant criminal case. According to police reports, Bhatti is a named accused in the central case of violence that unfolded on May 9. The arrest was executed based on video evidence connecting Bhatti to an attack on Jinnah House (Corps Commander House, Lahore).
The incident in question revolves around an attack on Jinnah House, which transpired following the arrest of PTI Founder Imran Khan. The police assert that Bhatti led a group involved in the attack, implicating him in the case.
