Princess Diana superfan John Loughrey has criticised Earl Charles Spencer over claims in his new memoir, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister.
Loughrey said he was “very disappointed” by the book and strongly objected to allegations involving King Charles.
The comments came during an interview with GB News at Sotheby’s, where Diana’s famous “Revenge Dress” was on display.
Loughrey criticised Spencer’s decision to publish the memoir and said he would not buy the book.
He also urged broadcaster Piers Morgan to challenge Spencer over claims involving photographs of Princess Diana.
The controversy stems from an error in the memoir’s first printing.
Spencer initially suggested that Morgan was responsible for publishing intrusive photographs of Diana taken at a gym in the 1990s.
Spencer later issued an apology and acknowledged that the claim was incorrect.
Loughrey said Spencer should focus on remembering his sister rather than making money from the book.
He also expressed his support for King Charles and Queen Camilla.
Spencer has defended the memoir, saying it presents his personal perspective as an “eyewitness to history.”
The book has sparked renewed debate among royal observers over Diana’s legacy and Spencer’s account of her life.
