President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the conferment of Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) upon General Syed Aamer Raza. The honour follows his promotion to the rank of four-star general. Officials announced the decision on Friday.
Military Honour Follows Strategic Appointment
According to a President House statement, the award recognises General Aamer Raza’s elevation and appointment. He recently assumed the role of Commander National Strategic Command.
Before taking the new position, General Aamer Raza served as the Chief of the General Staff of the Pakistan Army. His appointment marks a key leadership transition within the military.
Promotion Announced Earlier This Month
On July 24, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif promoted General Aamer Raza to the rank of four-star general. The prime minister also appointed him as Commander National Strategic Command.
Meanwhile, the approval of the Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) formally recognises his elevation and new responsibilities. The decoration ranks among Pakistan’s highest military honours.
