Zardari and Bilawal Quash Rumors of Differences, Share Family Photo in Dubai

Former President Asif Ali Zardari and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari were pictured together with their family at a reunion in Dubai, dispelling rumors of alleged differences between the father and son. Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari shared the family photo on social media, emphasizing their commitment to family bonds.

Addressing recent media reports, party leaders Sherry Rehman and Faisal Karim Kundi rejected rumors of discord, maintaining that Bilawal’s visit to Dubai had been pre-scheduled.

The family gathering comes in the midst of speculation linked to Zardari’s recent interview with Hamid Mir, where he discussed Bilawal’s training and acknowledged the younger generation’s right to express their thoughts.

During the interview, Zardari noted that Bilawal, while more talented, educated, and articulate than him, needed time and experience in politics. Bilawal had recently advocated for new faces to lead the country, prompting discussions about generational shifts within the PPP.

The family photo serves as a visual statement against the rumored differences and emphasizes the party’s commitment to prioritizing family bonds. The speculations escalated further when Bilawal changed his profile picture on social media, featuring an image of himself with his late mother, Benazir Bhutto.

Interim Sindh CM Orders Safety Audit of Commercial and Public Buildings After Karachi Mall Fire Tragedy

In another development, Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister, Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar, has taken notice of the lack of safety and security arrangements at commercial and government offices in the wake of recent fire incidents.

The interim CM expressed concern over such incidents causing loss of lives and damage to properties and attributed them to the government’s neglect of the inspection system.

The decision follows a massive fire at a shopping center on Karachi’s Rashid Minhas Road, resulting in 11 deaths and 22 injuries. While the fire has been extinguished, the CM emphasized the need for a comprehensive inspection system.

Justice Baqar outlined plans for a systematic inspection regime covering all installations, offices, commercial buildings, and public spaces. He directed the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA), Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Civil Defence, and relevant authorities to conduct safety audits of public and commercial buildings, educational institutions, and government offices. The findings and recommendations are expected to be submitted in a report.
