The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has officially requested the postponement of the party’s planned demonstration on October 15 at D Chowk.
Sources indicate that PTI workers in the province are experiencing frustration and fatigue from the ongoing series of protests, prompting calls for a break. The provincial leadership, including the Chief Minister who also serves as the party’s provincial president, has acknowledged these concerns and convened a meeting with key leaders to deliberate on the matter. The decision reached during this meeting will be communicated to the central leadership later today.
Several senior PTI figures, including Barrister Gohar and Asad Qaiser, support the idea of postponing the protest. Party workers have expressed that their continued involvement in demonstrations is becoming increasingly exhausting, and they are seeking a brief respite.
Furthermore, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has echoed these sentiments, urging the PTI leadership to reconsider the timing of the protest given the current circumstances.
Adding to the discontent, PTI workers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have voiced concerns that their counterparts in Punjab, including various leaders and supporters, have largely been absent from recent protests. This perceived lack of participation has further demotivated KP workers, intensifying their calls for postponement.
As the situation unfolds, the provincial chapter’s request reflects a broader desire for unity and revitalization among PTI members, ensuring that future demonstrations are met with renewed energy and support.
