Shehbaz Sharif: Nawaz’s Return Aims to Rescue Country from Crisis, Not Seek Revenge

Nawaz’s Return

PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif reassured that party supremo Nawaz Sharif is returning to the country not for revenge but to rescue it from crisis.

Shehbaz, addressing a political gathering in Lahore, confirmed Nawaz’s homecoming on October 21, emphasizing his intention to serve the people and revive prosperity.

Nawaz, a three-time prime minister, had been in self-imposed exile in London since November 2019 due to health reasons. He was disqualified for life in 2017 by the Supreme Court for not declaring a receivable salary.

Shehbaz urged party workers to prepare for Nawaz’s return to highlight the injustice done to him, asserting that Pakistan’s progress and development were hindered by his ouster.

Regarding Nawaz’s previous government’s performance, Shehbaz noted that it eliminated long hours of load-shedding during its tenure. He also mentioned the comparatively lower flour prices during Nawaz’s term as prime minister and expressed his commitment to working alongside Nawaz to steer the country towards development and growth.

Shehbaz recalled Nawaz Sharif’s past achievements, including conducting six nuclear tests in response to India’s atomic tests, despite pressure, even from then-US President Bill Clinton. He criticized the 2018 general elections as “rigged” and stated that they had impeded the country’s progress and development.
