PTI Officially Submits Intra-Party Election Results to Election Commission of Pakistan

Intra-Party Election

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) has officially submitted the results of its recent intra-party elections, deemed controversial by some, along with necessary documents to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, elected unopposed, urged the ECP to promptly issue the certificate, anticipating the upcoming announcement of the general elections schedule.

Addressing concerns over the intra-party elections, Barrister Gohar defended the process on his official social media account, emphasizing compliance with ECP directives. The PTI’s opponents criticize the elections, labeling them as a “selection, not an election.” Mainstream party leaders call for ECP intervention, citing perceived faults and rigging.

Founding PTI member Akbar S. Babar plans to approach the ECP to contest the conduct of the intra-party polls. The controversy surrounding the elections intensifies, with accusations of bias and prejudice against the caretaker Information Minister Murtaza Solangi, who commented on the PTI’s criticism of the caretaker government’s role.

In response, the PTI’s core committee decides to accelerate the election campaign, announcing plans for a workers’ convention in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Concerns arise over the decision to appoint returning officers from the administration rather than the judiciary.

The PTI spokesman strongly rebukes Minister Solangi, asserting that the party revolutionized politics by rejecting hereditary and dynastic practices. The spokesman criticizes Solangi’s remarks, arguing that he lacks constitutional and moral justification to comment on the internal affairs of a political party, emphasizing his apparent bias.

As the political landscape heats up with intra-party disputes and election preparations, the PTI remains focused on dispelling criticism and advancing its campaign agenda in the run-up to the general elections.
