The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is facing logistical challenges and disorganization ahead of its highly anticipated rally in Lahore today.
Despite the party’s efforts, the stage construction at the venue has yet to begin, and chairs and a sound system have only just been delivered.
The PTI administration has struggled to finalize the stage setup, and party leaders were seen reviewing the preparations late last night.
PTI workers from across Punjab have started arriving at the venue, but adequate arrangements have not been made. The police has set up barbed wire on the Ring Road and has asked participants to take a prescribed route to reach the venue. The police has also ordered that vehicles will not be allowed to be parked on the Ring Road.
The party’s leader, Sheikh Waqas Akram, has called on the people of Pakistan to participate fully in the rally, emphasizing its importance for the country’s future.
Convoys from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will depart for Lahore today, led by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
In a related development, a writ petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court to annul the detention orders issued against PTI leaders and workers across Punjab.
The petition argues that the detention orders are illegal and unconstitutional, and requests the court to release all detained individuals immediately.
As the rally approaches, the situation remains tense, with legal challenges and logistical issues threatening to overshadow the party’s plans.
