The Lahore High Court held a hearing on a petition seeking a ban on Punjab Chief Minister’s speeches targeting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
During the hearing, the petitioner’s counsel argued that a certified copy of the Supreme Court’s decision had been attached to the petition, but the court staff raised an objection. In response, the court stated, “We will summon the concerned staff member who raised the objection.”
Justice Farooq Haider presided over the case, filed by PTI Vice President Akmal Khan Bari. The court directed the summoning of the High Court official who raised the objection.
The petition names the Chairman of PEMRA and others as respondents. It accuses the Punjab Chief Minister of delivering hateful speeches against PTI’s founder and the party, which the petitioner claims incite anger among party workers. The plea requests the court to instruct PEMRA to ban the broadcast of these speeches containing hate speech.
