Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has revealed plans to organize a public rally in Lahore on October 15. According to sources familiar with the situation, PTI has formally requested permission from the deputy commissioner to conduct a rally at Liberty Chowk in Lahore on the 15th of October.
This announcement follows the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) declaration of their intention to hold a public rally in Lahore on October 21. The purpose of this gathering is to welcome their party leader, Nawaz Sharif, back to Pakistan after his approximately four-year exile in the United Kingdom.
Sources have indicated that the PML-N leadership has decided to stage a ‘large-scale’ rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on the 21st of October. Nawaz Sharif will make his way from the airport to Minar-e-Pakistan in a bulletproof vehicle as part of the rally.
In preparation for this event, PML-N leaders have instructed all party members nationwide to converge in Lahore on October 21.
PTI Leader Usman Dar Resigns, Alleges May 9 Events Targeted COAS Overthrow
Meanwhile, Usman Dar, a close aide of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, announced his departure from the party. He cited the events of May 9, when PTI workers vandalized state installations following the arrest of the former prime minister, as the primary reason for his decision.
In an interview, Dar alleged that the motive behind the May 9 events was to overthrow the army chief, General Asim Munir. He also blamed the PTI leadership for orchestrating these events and claimed that Imran Khan himself chaired the meeting that planned the “plan of action” in case of his arrest.

Following the events, a crackdown resulted in the arrest of numerous party workers and leaders, including Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
Dar’s disappearance and reappearance had also sparked legal proceedings, with his brother-in-law filing a petition in the Sindh High Court, which subsequently directed police to register a case regarding his disappearance.
