More people are being vaccinated against the new coronavirus, bringing vaccine coverage in the United States closer to 80 percent than it was at its peak.
The National Institute of Health took covid monitoring over on Tuesday, and they tweeted about the change.
There was a message on the screen reading, “Vaccine Update: Alhamdolillah 80 percent of eligible Pakistani population stands completely vaccinated against COVID-19.”
Experts in the field of medicine have emphasised the need of being vaccinated to stop the spread of the virus and restore things back to normal.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) also tweeted out Covid-19 stats on Friday. Total tests in the previous 24 hours: 27,003; positive cases: 141; positivity percent: 0.52 percent; deaths: 0; patients in critical condition: 280.
A decrease in Covid cases and an improvement in immunisation rates led the federal government to shut the NCOC on March 31. Before they shut the NCOC down, the immunisation rate was 75%.
Asad Umar, the chairman of the NCOC, remarked at a news conference: “We have learned to live with the epidemic.” In his speech, he praised the people for their cooperation with the government and their adherence to the rules of engagement.
The World Health Organization and other international organisations have lauded Pakistan for its efforts in the fight against Covid-19. U.S. multi-billionaire Bill Gates had also been impressed by the country’s efforts to control Covid and polio.
After Pakistan vaccinated 50% of its people, the WHO also congratulated the country. According to WHO delegate Dr Palitha Mahipala, “This milestone reflects the extraordinary efforts made in ensuring that everyone across the country has access to COVID-19 immunisation, including hard-to-reach places,” WHO noted in a tweet.
According to specialists and the government, people should still adhere to Covid guidelines in enclosed areas and ensure necessary vaccinations.
