The Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) will discuss anti-terror measures, including the security situation in Afghanistan, with counterterrorism teams from India and Pakistan and other SCO members.
On Monday, the meeting will begin in New Delhi (today).
Based in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, the RATS is a permanent part of the SCO. Terrorism, separatism, and extremism are all issues that need to be tackled together by member states. For a period of one year, the chairmanship of the SCO is rotated among its member states. India is currently chairing the executive council.
A three-person delegation from Islamabad will be travelling to India at this time, and it will be significant because it will be the first visit by a government delegation since Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took office last month.
