Energy Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan announced Iran has inked a deal with the government of Balochistan to provide an additional 100MW of power.
According to a statement he made to Radio Pakistan, the project will be finished as quickly as possible to help the people of the province right away.
As far back as 1999, Iran has sent energy to the Gwadar area, Kech district, and Panjgur district of Balochistan. Gwadar’s demand caused an increase in the quota from 35MW to 100MW, which was implemented in 2013.
In May 2022, Iran contributed 54.52 GWh, or 0.37 percent of the total power generated by various sources, at a cost of Rs18.9673 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for Iranian electricity.
As part of a four-day trip to guarantee that bilateral energy cooperation between the two neighbouring nations improves, Federal Minister for Power Khurram Dastgir Khan arrived in Tehran on June 19, 2022.
