During a press conference on Sunday, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan named the US official who reportedly threatened the PTI government, risking Pakistan-USA relations.
He made the announcement during a meeting with party MPs following a televised address in which he thanked the public for “foiling the extensive plot” and revealed that he had asked President Alvi to disband the national assembly.
According to him, Donald Lu, a US State Department employee, is driving an “international plot” against the PTI administration since PTI Government has an independent foreign policy of its own.
On March 27, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan stated that a foreign force had tried to overthrow his administration by interfering in the country’s internal affairs.
While he did not mention the nation or official by the name, he did so in subsequent contacts with lawmakers and reporters afterwards.
