ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar has clarified that no political party has been banned or declared illegal, emphasizing the importance of ensuring a level playing field during the upcoming elections.
In an interview with a private TV channel, Anwar Haq Kakar stated that the election date has been announced through consensus and was officially declared by the Election Commission itself. He affirmed the Election Commission’s authority to conduct the election and encouraged it to use that authority. He mentioned that if the Election Commission wishes to consult with the head of state or government, it should do so.
The Caretaker Prime Minister pointed out that all political parties are permitted to hold political rallies, and they typically obtain permission from the district administration for meetings and rallies. This is a way for every political party to connect with voters and gain their support.
Anwarul Haq Kakar also mentioned that local and international observers will be monitoring the election to determine whether it was free and fair. In the event of any bans or accusations, he clarified that the process to address them is already established within the system. His notification alone cannot lift a ban; relevant authorities must be contacted, and if they maintain a ban, it must be adhered to.
Regarding the judicial system, he expressed surprise at speculative questions and emphasized that the executive’s role in the judicial system is not as extensive as some may think.

The written order mentioned that appeals against the Supreme Court verdict in the NAB law amendments case have been linked to the detailed verdict of the Supreme Court (Practice & Procedure) Act, 2023.
Notices have been issued to the Attorney General and all provincial advocate generals, and the notice to the Chairman PTI will be served via the jail superintendent.
The hearing of the case took place on October 31, with a five-member larger bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, including Justices Amin-Ud-Din Khan, Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Athar Minallah, and Hasan Azhar Rizvi.
