Missing PTI focal person Intezar Panjutha was recovered by police early Sunday morning in Attock, Punjab. According to authorities, he was reportedly abandoned by his alleged abductors within the jurisdiction of the Hassan Abdal Police Station.
A police spokesperson revealed that a suspicious vehicle traveling from Islamabad to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was signaled to stop on GT Road. When the vehicle did not comply, police set up a blockade, prompting the abductors to flee, leaving both the vehicle and Panjutha behind.
Upon rescue, Panjutha, also known as Ihtesham Panjhutha, was found with his hands and feet bound. Authorities quickly untied him, provided him with water, and moved him to a secure location. Earlier in the day, Attorney-General for Pakistan Mansoor Awan informed the Islamabad High Court that Panjutha would be recovered within 24 hours.
During the court hearing regarding his disappearance, IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq stated that if Panjutha was not located by the following day, the Attorney General would need to return to court for the next hearing. Awan had assured the court that Panjutha would be back by the same time the next day.
