Maryam taunts Imran over criticism of caretaker CM
On Tuesday, Maryam Nawaz, senior vice president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, mocked PTI chairman Imran Khan for criticising the appointment of Mohsin Naqvi as interim chief minister of Punjab, saying that Farah Khan would be a better candidate.
Maryam Nawaz was referring to Bushra Bibi, the PTI leader’s wife, and Farhat Shahzadi, alias Farah Khan.
Ms. Khan has been accused by the current government of fraudulently collecting wealth and property during Mr. Khan’s reign, as well as wielding influence over political appointments.
Ms. Nawaz remarked to the journalists in front of Stanhope House:
“He [Mr Khan] has started crying over this [the caretaker appointment]. If he opposes certain names, maybe Farah should be made a caretaker chief minister in Punjab, because she has experience running Punjab,”
When asked about Mr. Khan’s comments, PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif responded:
“Forget about what Imran Khan says. This man did not leave any stone unturned when destroying Pakistan. He was a curse on the country. Getting rid of such a person is the responsibility of every Pakistani.”
