JUI to Celebrate ‘Day of Gratitude’ Following Supreme Court Ruling

Day of Gratitude

The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) has announced that it will observe a “Day of Gratitude” on Friday, August 23, to celebrate the recent Supreme Court decision in the Mubarak Sani case. This decision has been hailed as a significant victory by the party and its supporters.

In a press conference addressing the announcement, JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed his deep appreciation for the ruling.

He commended both the Pakistani parliament and the Supreme Court for their roles in the case, emphasizing the strength of the nation’s stance on the belief in the finality of Prophethood.

Rehman stated, “No power in the world can conspire against the belief of finality of Prophethood,” underscoring the importance of this doctrine to the JUI and its followers.

Rehman extended his congratulations to the Muslim Ummah, the Pakistani nation, and various religious parties for what he described as a “great achievement.”

This sentiment reflects the broader sense of triumph felt by the party and its supporters following the court’s decision.

As part of the celebrations, the JUI has planned a public gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore on September 7.

This event will commemorate the golden jubilee of the 1974 parliamentary decision that declared Ahmadis and Lahoris as religious minorities.

Rehman indicated that this occasion would be marked as a “day of victory,” with the recent Supreme Court ruling adding further significance to this historical milestone.

In his remarks, Rehman reaffirmed the JUI’s position on the finality of Prophethood, asserting that Pakistan’s stance on this matter is unassailable and cannot be challenged.

He also acknowledged the human rights of all citizens while emphasizing the firm religious stance of the party.

Rehman also expressed his gratitude to Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa for his role in resolving the matter decisively. The Chief Justice’s handling of the case was seen as pivotal in settling the issue “once and for all.”

Following the Supreme Court’s decision, a large number of supporters from various religio-political parties gathered outside the Supreme Court and in the Red Zone.

The atmosphere was one of celebration, with jubilant crowds chanting slogans and expressing their elation at the court’s ruling.

The peaceful dispersal of the supporters highlighted the widespread approval and happiness among JUI adherents and their allies.

This “Day of Gratitude” is set to be a significant event for the JUI and its supporters, symbolizing both a celebration of legal victories and a reaffirmation of the party’s core beliefs.
