Journalists protested and called for a boycott of PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry outside the Supreme Court in Islamabad on Wednesday after he exchanged angry words with renowned journalist Matiullah Jan.
Journalists have urged the former information minister to apologise for the alleged use of disrespectful language toward the senior journalist. Fawad remained defiant and spewed profanity against the journalists.
The suo motu notice of the political turmoil was being covered by the media, who were stationed outside the supreme court. Afterwards, on Wednesday (today), the Supreme Court will hear the government’s arguments.
On Sunday, Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri of the National Assembly rejected the no-confidence resolution of the former opposition, claiming it violated Article 5 of the Constitution.
Following the speech by former minister Asad Umar, Fawad repeatedly rejected sceptic reporters’ requests to ask questions, finally claiming that individuals like the journalist attend because they are “for hire.”
Fellow journalists can be seen in the video pleading with the minister to apologise.
