ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan has been detained in the Cipher case.
On Tuesday, the Islamabad High Court suspended Khan’s sentence in the Toshakhana case and ordered his immediate release.
However, FIA detained Imran Khan in the Cipher case. The agency will present Imran Khan in the Special Court dealing with the cases falling under the Official Secrets Act on Wednesday (Aug 30). At present, Khan is in Attock Jail on judicial remand under the Cipher case.

After the decision of the IHC, PTI lawyers team reached Attock Jail for the release of Imran Khan.
Nonetheless, authorities informed them about the detention of Khan in the Cipher case.
Notably, the FIA has recorded the arrest of Imran Khan from August 15 in the Cipher case.
IHC suspends Imran Khan’s sentence in the Toshakhana case, orders his immediate release
Meanwhile, the Islamabad High Court today suspended the sentence of PTI chairman Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case. The trial court judge Humayun Dilawar had awarded three years imprisonment to Imran Khan in this case.
The IHC ordered the immediate release of Imran Khan from Attock Jail. The IHC bench announced the verdict through its short order. A detailed decision will be announced later on.
A two-member bench of the IHC led by Chief Justice Aamir Farooq announced the reserved verdict on Tuesday.
Earlier, before the announcement of the IHC decision, Imran Khan’s lawyer and PPP leader Latif Khosa said that the court will suspend sentence of Khan. He, nonetheless, claimed that Imran Khan could be arrested in the Cipher Case.
Meanwhile, on Monday, the IHC said that it is announcing its reserved verdict today at 11 am in the Toshakhana case sentence to Imran Khan. The IHC also told the PTI and ECP lawyers that it is announcing the decision on Tuesday morning.
Whether the court would suspend the sentence of PTI chairman Imran Khan or not? It remained a hot topic before the announcement of the decision.
Earlier, the two-member bench of the IHC reserved its verdict in this case. In this case, PTI chairman Imran Khan challenged the sentence given by the trial court judge Humayun Dilawar.
The IHC bench led by chief justice Aamir Farooq heard the case on Monday. After hearing arguments, the bench reserved the verdict.
