LAHORE: Disgruntled members of PML-Q and PTI held a meeting with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday where they announced joining the party.
The group included a senior member of PML-Q, Rai Ijaz Ahmad Khan, who has formerly served as forest minister. While Former Balochistan governor Ghaus Bakhsh Raisani’s son Nawabzada Aminullah Raisani also met the PPP chairman and announced joining the party.
Independent MNA Noor ul Ain, PTI ticket holder Shoaib Rahim Vithra and Suhail Rahim Vithra also announced their membership of PPP.
The meeting was also attended by senior PPP Leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf. PPP leaders expressed hope that the new entrants will contribute towards the growth of the party in Punjab.
The party is looking towards cementing its presence in Punjab. Earlier, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday sought Punjab’s support to oust Prime Minister Imran Khan, saying that the premier would not find a place to hide if the province backed his party.
