CM Maryam labels PTI a terrorist party

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz labeled the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as a “terrorist” party during a press conference in Lahore on Wednesday. She criticized the party for allegedly exploiting children to promote its agenda, claiming that PTI has diverted student attention through baseless allegations.

“By using children in their political schemes, the PTI has demonstrated a new low in political standards,” she stated. Maryam referred to a recent incident involving a girl who had been hospitalized since October 2, emphasizing that those responsible for the protests would face justice.

In addition to her comments on the PTI, CM Maryam discussed the pressing issue of corruption within the investigation system. She highlighted the need to eliminate corrupt practices during a meeting she chaired in Lahore, focused on enhancing the prosecution department.

Recommendations were presented to bolster the prosecution’s effectiveness, including the implementation of a digital system to streamline operations.

During the meeting, the necessity of adopting the Punjab Integrated Public Prosecutor System was discussed, along with proposals for improving the skill sets of prosecutors.

CM Maryam underscored the importance of raising the legal standards associated with First Information Reports (FIRs) to ensure better accountability and justice.

Overall, her remarks aimed not only to criticize the PTI’s tactics but also to reinforce her government’s commitment to reforming the legal and investigative framework in Punjab.

By addressing both the political climate and systemic corruption, CM Maryam is positioning her administration as proactive in safeguarding the integrity of governance and justice in the province.
