High-level back-channel talks are currently taking place between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the government.
The negotiations reportedly involve key figures including Rana Sanaullah, Mohsin Naqvi, and an unnamed political leader reaching out to PTI representatives. However, sources suggest that a recent statement by Bushra Bibi has caused a setback, disrupting the momentum of these talks.
The government delegation has also consulted with the Prime Minister regarding the ongoing discussions. Sources indicate that Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has been given full authority to represent Ali Amin and lead the negotiations on behalf of PTI.
Both sides, according to sources, acknowledge that stubbornness on key issues is hindering progress in the talks. One major obstacle remains the demand for the immediate release of PTI Chairman Imran Khan. Some sources suggest that allowing more time for consultation could pave the way for Khan’s release.
The government, according to sources, has adopted a positive and conciliatory approach, hoping to de-escalate tensions and reach a resolution. Alongside discussions on Khan’s release, alternative solutions are also reportedly being considered as part of the ongoing negotiations.
