Assistant Commissioner Hazim Bangwar Has Been Dismissed from His Position

Hazim Bangwar Removed from Assistant Commissioner Position Amid Court Order Controversy

Hazim Bangwar has been dismissed from his role as assistant commissioner in Karachi, according to an official notification. He has been instructed to report to the Services and General Administration Department for further guidance.

Known for his distinctive style and diverse background in fashion design, modeling, poetry, and music, Bangwar gained public attention during his tenure in North Nazimabad. His unique approach to governance made him a notable figure in the community.

The dismissal is reportedly linked to his recent actions regarding court directives. Sources indicate that Bangwar issued notices to three government officials, directing them to vacate their official residences, following orders from the Sindh High Court and the Karachi Commissioner. The officials in question, Deputy Secretaries Zahid Jamaica and Fatima Ahmed, were residing in accommodations meant specifically for officers of the Commissioner’s Office.

Following these actions, a notification was issued for Bangwar’s removal, emphasizing the need for compliance with the court’s orders. This development has sparked discussions about the implications of his dismissal and the circumstances surrounding it.

In a recent tweet, Hazim Bangwar confirmed that his enrollment at Harvard does not require him to leave his job or Pakistan. He expressed gratitude for the support he has received, stating, “I want to clarify that I’m not leaving Pakistan nor my job. I will continue to serve my public while attending my classes online.”

However, Bangwar has faced criticism for his effeminacy and distinctive fashion choices, with some labeling him as “transgender” or “female.” Addressing these claims, he stated, “I am not transgender; I am male. While these speculations are personally offensive, they also undermine women and working females by suggesting that being a woman is an insult.”

He further emphasized that such stereotypes are harmful, saying, “This promotes the idea that being a woman or part of a third gender is bad, which is both unfair and offensive. I am offended on behalf of women and the transgender community.”

Hazim holds a degree in Fashion Design and Marketing from AIU, London, and an LLB from a university in London. A music and fashion enthusiast, he has collaborated with various notable artists, including Jessie J and Nicki Minaj.

Reasons for Dismissal

The circumstances surrounding Bangwar’s dismissal have come to light. Reports indicate that he was removed from his position after issuing notices to three government officials, instructing them to vacate their residences in compliance with directives from the Sindh High Court and the Karachi Commissioner.

Bangwar notified Deputy Secretaries Zahid Jamaica and Fatima Ahmed, who were residing in the Karachi Commissioner’s compound, which is reserved for official officers. Following these actions, a notification for his removal was issued, instructing the Services and General Administration Department (SGAD) to handle the matter accordingly.
