Reporter Shireen Abu Akleh Slain In An Israeli Assault On The West Bank

Israeli forces shot and killed Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Nasri for reporting illegal and brutal Israeli raids in Palestine

The Palestinian health ministry reported that an Al-Jazeera journalist was murdered while reporting on an Israeli operation in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin early Wednesday.

According to the Al Jazeera journalists, she was critically injured after she was shot by a live bullet on Wednesday while documenting Israeli operations in the city of Jenin.

During an Arabic-language broadcast, Shireen Abu Akleh, a well-known Palestinian reporter, was shot and killed shortly thereafter, according to the report. Injured but stable, another al-Quds journalist was hurt in the attack on the newspaper’s headquarters in Jerusalem.

Israeli artillery, according to the health ministry, struck the journalists. A request for comment from the military was not immediately returned.

Recent weeks have seen a near-daily Israeli incursion on the occupied West Bank, with many of the attacks being carried out by Palestinians from the Jenin area. Israel portrays it as a terrorist stronghold, so the town and its refugee camp have long been renowned.
