In recognition of their exceptional performance, DIG Investigations Lahore, Imran Kishwar, announced a reward of Rs500,000 for the police team responsible for apprehending suspects involved in firing at a college bus carrying female students near Rehmania Bridge on the old GT Road.

The arrest of five suspects in connection with the shooting incident at the college bus was announced by the police on November 28. The unidentified suspects fired upon the bus carrying female students from a private college traveling from Kasur to Kashmir.
During a briefing with journalists, DIG Imran Kishwar disclosed that the suspects involved in the firing incident were intoxicated, and a heated argument transpired between the suspects’ car drivers and the college bus drivers. Providing an update on the injured girls, he mentioned that one of them was in critical condition and on a ventilator, while the second girl was stable and recovering in the hospital.
Responding to questions, the DIG suggested that the college administration should have canceled the trip immediately after the incident. He added that the car used in the firing incident was rented. The police officer stated that further investigations are underway based on the suspects’ statements and evidence, with a terrorism clause included in the FIR.
Initial probes suggest that the incident stemmed from road rage, with the suspected driver opening fire out of frustration following a confrontation during an overtaking attempt near Mohlanwal. The bus driver reported to the police that the suspects chased the bus for over one and a half kilometers, engaging in a verbal exchange before abruptly opening fire, resulting in injuries to two female students.
