Karachi police have discovered mysterious white powder from the apartment of Humaira Asghar, giving a new twist to the case. Police have uncovered new evidence from the apartment of late actress Humaira Asghar in Karachi’s DHA area, ARY News reported Tuesday.

Humaira’s body was discovered on July 8, 2025, after Gizri Police—accompanied by a court bailiff—forced entry into her fourth-floor flat in the Ittehad Commercial Area to enforce an eviction order. The action was taken after her landlord pursued legal action due to unpaid rent dating back to April 2024.

Some neighbors had reported a foul odor, but due to an adjacent flat remaining vacant until February 2025, the smell went unnoticed for months. Investigators noted that both the main and balcony doors were locked from the inside, indicating that Humaira was likely alone at the time of her death.

Nonetheless, during the search of the apartment, police discovered a white, unidentified powder stored in three to four clay vessels. Samples of the substance have been sent for chemical analysis to determine its nature and possible role in the incident.

“At this stage, we have no clear explanation for why this powder was present in the flat,” a police official stated. Authorities added that the strange odor from Humaira’s decomposed body may have been linked to the mysterious material.

Only a detailed laboratory examination will reveal the composition and potential significance of the substance, police said.

Earlier investigations ruled out poisoning as the cause of death. However, other unusual findings, including the actress reportedly using two separate CNICs (national identity cards), have added to the complexity of the case.
