Transformational Initiatives By The Pakistan Army For Gwadar
Meanwhile, historically overlooked by past governments, Gwadar is now receiving much-needed attention.
Last March, the Army Chief announced the allocation of a substantial 500 million for transformative projects that will reshape the city’s landscape. These far-reaching initiatives span various sectors and reflect the Pakistan Army’s commitment to improving the lives of Gwadar’s residents.
Notable projects include enhancements in the fisheries sector, such as the provision of 500 fishing nets to empower local fishermen, plans to upgrade the fish auction hall, and the introduction of solarization measures. Additionally, Gwadar is set to benefit from the construction of 12 shops, offering employment opportunities to unemployed fishermen.
Moreover, the Army is offering free education to 200 children from fishing families, promising a brighter future for the city’s youth. Healthcare in Gwadar will be strengthened by the construction of nine basic health units and centers dedicated to rehabilitating drug addicts and addressing critical health concerns.
The city’s water supply is expected to see enhancements, with plans to construct 13 RO water plants and provide solar panels for 1,270 households, ensuring improved access to clean water. Sports and recreation will also receive a boost, with the construction of two football grounds and a state-of-the-art boxing arena.
