LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: PML-N’s Hamza Shehbaz was elected the new chief minister of Punjab with the support of 197 members of the provincial assembly. The Punjab’s CM election became rowdy when the PTI members thrashed and insulted the Deputy Speaker Sardar Dost Muhammad Mazari and in reaction the PML(N) men thrashed PML-Q leader Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and some others.
The PTI members created rumpus in the Punjab Assembly by attacking their own party’s Deputy Speaker and threw ‘lotas’ on him, some punched him, kicked him and insulted him as much as they could do today.
The PM(N) MPAs and their supporters finished the brawl by thrashing Chaudhary Pervez Elahi and other PTI MPAs, which paved the way for the election of the Chief Minister as PTI leaders realized their defeat and they announced boycott of the PA’s proceedings.

Ch. Pervez Elahi alleged that PML-N MPA Rana Mashood broke his hand. “During his (Shehbaz’s) exile, I took care of Hamza Shehbaz but today he showed his reality,” he said. “This is Sharif’s democracy and today they have crossed the limits.”
Deputy speaker attacked, pelted with lotas
Earlier, slogans were chanted by both the parties, while PTI members threw lotas at the opposition benches, leading to open altercations and fights on the floor of the house.
When Deputy Speaker Mazari entered the assembly, members of the treasury benches threw lotas at him and tried to circle him, while one of the MPAs pulled his hair and others were seen taking shots at him. Mazari was immediately shifted to his chamber by assembly guards.
