The Pakistan Meteorological Department has indicated the possibility of light rain in Karachi on Sunday night, accompanied by prevailing fog and smog in the Sindh region. In a Sunday advisory, the PMD forecasted a humidity level of 79% in Karachi, with gentle winds blowing from the North-East at a speed of 7 kilometers per hour.
Temperatures in Karachi may dip to as low as 15 degrees Celsius, with the likelihood of light rain during the night. However, daytime temperatures could reach a high of 26 to 28 degrees Celsius.
In other parts of Sindh, including Jacobabad, Hyderabad, Mohenjodaro, Sukkur, Larkana, Daud, Ghotki, Khairpur, and Kashmore, persistent smog and fog are anticipated. Dense fog is also expected in the plain areas of Punjab.
The PMD emphasized that northern areas of Pakistan and Balochistan will experience extremely cold weather. Temperature forecasts indicate significant drops, with Skardu expected to reach -9 degrees Celsius and -6 degrees Celsius predicted for Gilgit, Astore, and Kalam.

Meanwhile, on a recent Saturday, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) executed a strategic raid resulting in the capture of a highly sought-after terrorist believed to be involved in the assault on Mufti Taqi Usmani in Karachi.
The operation, conducted in Karachi’s Soldier Bazar area, saw coordinated efforts between CTD officials and various law enforcement forces, culminating in the apprehension of a notorious individual named Syed Mehdi, known to have affiliations with a hostile agency.
During the subsequent investigation, the detained individual unveiled critical information, acknowledging his role in providing target details to his partners in crime, namely Raza Jafri and Abid Raza. Both of these associates have been actively engaged in the planning and execution of lethal attacks.
The CTD spokesperson divulged that, upon searching the residence of the arrested individual, an arsenal of arms and ammunition sourced from hostile agencies was discovered, indicating a substantial threat neutralized.
The Counter Terrorism Department further asserts that the detained suspect was allegedly employing hand grenades and firearms to carry out precision-targeted attacks. Additionally, he stands accused of engaging in the illicit trade of weapons, compounding the severity of his criminal activities.
