ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today announced a two-month waiver of electricity bills for the consumers residing in flood-hit areas across the country.
The Premier also announced a two-month waiver of water utility charges.
Addressing the people during his visit to Balochistan’s Sohbatpur, PM Shehbaz said the government would not charge the consumers in the flood-hit areas for the bills of August and September.

The premier visited the severely damaged city of Sohbatpur due to floods and reviewed the relief efforts and interacted with the people to get their feedback.
PM Shehbaz also announced the continuation of the government’s facility in September to waive off FCA for electricity consumers using up to 300 units. Finance Minister, however, said last week that FCA is being deferred and not waived off.
Shehbaz Sharif said that two trucks loaded with bottled water are reaching Suhbatpur tonight while 10 tonnes of water would be available in the next two days.
