Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has pledged to restore peace and stability in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). He made the announcement during a high-level security meeting in Peshawar on Thursday.

Shehbaz Sharif Reviews KP Security Crisis
During the meeting, Shehbaz expressed serious concern over rising terrorist attacks and worsening law and order.
He defended the federal government’s decision to impose emergency measures and governor’s rule in KP on October 11.
According to Shehbaz, the government had exhausted political negotiations before taking constitutional action.
He also accused the previous PTI-led administration of failing to strengthen police and counterterrorism institutions. PTI has rejected the government’s allegations.
Government Plans Stronger Counterterrorism Measures
The meeting reviewed security operations and the need for better coordination between relevant institutions.
Officials discussed strengthening the police and Counter Terrorism Department through improved equipment, training, and manpower.
Shehbaz also highlighted the importance of education, healthcare, and development in areas affected by terrorism.
PM Orders Investigation Into School Roof Collapse
The prime minister expressed grief over the deaths of a teacher and children following a school roof collapse in Peshawar.
He directed Governor Faisal Karim Kundi to visit the site and ensure a thorough investigation.
Meanwhile, Shehbaz promised continued federal support for restoring security and improving public services.
The meeting comes amid political tensions following the removal of KP’s elected provincial government.
