Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reached the presidential palace in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, on Wednesday for an official engagement.
Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov welcomed the Pakistani prime minister upon his arrival at the presidential palace.
The national anthems of Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan were played during the official welcome ceremony.
Meanwhile, a smartly turned-out contingent of the Kyrgyz armed forces presented a guard of honour to Prime Minister Shehbaz.
The prime minister and President Japarov then inspected the guard of honour together.
Afterward, President Japarov introduced Prime Minister Shehbaz to members of his cabinet.
Similarly, the Pakistani prime minister introduced President Japarov to members of his visiting delegation.
The two leaders later exchanged handshakes before beginning a one-on-one meeting at the presidential palace.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz and President Japarov are expected to discuss bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest.
The visit reflects ongoing efforts by Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan to strengthen diplomatic and economic cooperation.
Furthermore, high-level engagements between the two countries aim to expand cooperation across various sectors.
